You will be escorted by the guide and first on our list of attractions is Lalbagh, the botanical garden, originally commissioned by Hyder Ali, which houses India's largest collection of exotic trees and plants. It has a famousglass housewhich hosts two annual flower shows. Lalbagh is also home to a few species of birds. The commonly sighted birds are myna, parakeets, crows, Brahminy kite, pond heron, common egret, purple moor hen, etc.

You may also get a chance here to come close to one of the oldest geological rock formations on earth dating back 3,000 million years.

Thereafter, head to Tipu Sultan's Palace, once the summer residence of The Tiger of Mysuru. Though not the most impressive of palaces, it is historically significant. Noted earlier for its teak pillars and ornamental frescoes, it is now a far cry from its glorious past - faded wall paint remnants reflect the toll of time.
