Located in the heart of New Delhi, India Gate is one of the most prominent national monuments, designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and unveiled by Lord Irwin in 1931. Formerly known as the All India War Memorial, this 42 metre high monument honours the soldiers of the Indian Army who lost their lives while fighting for the British in the First World War and the Third Anglo-Afghan War.

One of Delhi's most famous monument, the colossal Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stands as a powerful reminder of the Mughal emperors who ruled India. The complex consists of the vast fortification wall, palaces, pearl mosque, halls of public and private audience, beautifully laid gardens and the archaeological museum displaying a collection of some of the most exquisite relics belonging to the Mughal era.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site dating back to the early 13th century, Qutab Minar (72.5 metres high) stands tall as a masterpiece of perfect proportions. It is the highest tower in India and the world's tallest brick minaret. Though, it was the first formal entry of Islamic rule in India, its various structures offers very interesting insights into its architecture.

Built in 1938, the Laxmi Narayan Temple or the Birla Mandir is dedicated to Laxmi (the goddess of prosperity) and Narayana (the preserver). Mahatma Gandhi inaugurated the temple on the condition that people of all castes will be allowed to enter the premises.

      Note:-

      • India Gate: The road leading to India Gate has pathways on both sides as well as parks alongside the road. It is easily accessible even though there are no steps. Washrooms are within range as well.
      • Red Fort: There are two check posts at the entrance of the Red Fort, which are 100 m away from each other. The first check post is near the ticket counter, while the second one is at the entrance of the main gate which is 25 feet in width. Wheelchairs are accessible near the ticket counter. The path of the main compound is quite narrow as there is work in progress due to renovation, due to which a major part of it is closed to the public. Braille script can be found in front of the Nabat Khana which is about 33'' above the ground. Ramps along with railings are available at the Diwan-I-Am, Diwan-I-Khas, Rang Mahal and Hamam. The ramps are also used by normal public. The pathways here are well maintained and smooth with a width of 12 feet. Washrooms present inside as well as outside both contain ramps.
